Max’s working life started behind the bar of his family’s pub, the Spread Eagle on Alfreton Road in Radford. He was running it at seventeen, reputedly the youngest licensee in the country at the time.
After DJing in Majorca he moved to the other side of the door, owning and running bars and nightclubs. On Portugal’s Algarve coast he founded Blanco Beach Club in Portimão.
It is where he learned business from the ground up, and every venture since has started with that lesson.
